Bhupindra International Public School (BIPS), Patiala, is committed to providing every child with a safe, secure, respectful, inclusive and child-friendly learning environment.

In accordance with the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, applicable CBSE directions and school safety requirements, the POCSO & Child Protection Committee has been constituted to promote child safety, awareness, prevention, reporting and appropriate response to concerns relating to child protection.

Our Commitment

The Committee shall work towards:

  • Creating awareness among students, staff and parents regarding child safety and the POCSO Act.
  • Promoting a school environment based on dignity, respect, trust and zero tolerance towards child sexual abuse.
  • Encouraging children to speak up about anything that makes them feel unsafe, uncomfortable, threatened or violated.
  • Receiving and appropriately escalating concerns relating to the safety and protection of children.
  • Ensuring that concerns are treated promptly, sensitively and confidentially, subject to applicable law.
  • Supporting age-appropriate awareness and sensitisation programmes for students and staff.
  • Guiding students regarding safe and unsafe behaviour, personal boundaries and responsible reporting.
  • Coordinating with parents/guardians and appropriate authorities wherever required under law.
  • Maintaining appropriate records and ensuring child-protection concerns are handled in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
